Abandoned Window

Abandoned Window

This window is from one of the battlements at Fort Worden State Park and one that is readily accessible to visitors. As such, it has been ‘tagged’ numerous times over the years. The park approach is to paint over the tags. Between the pealing paint, normal discolor with aging and the tag removal touch up paint, the color patterns can be very visually interesting.

Window with Peeling Paint

Window and Peeling Paint

Actually, I’m not sure if a window is a window if it is boarded up. One of those deep (or not) philosophical questions that I don’t bother with much.

The peeling paint reminded me of when I had to scrape the family home one summer, getting it ready for painting.
