Oregon Grape

Oregon Grape

These oregon grapes were near the beach in Fort Worden State Park. I had found some earlier that were down by the beach, but they were a little dried out. These were in a shadier area and looked more healthy.

Squash

Squash

The local farmers markets can be a great opportunity for photography. There are so many colors and interesting shapes. (and buy something and support the local farmers while you’re there!)

View to the north from the top of Mt Walker

View from the top of Mt Walker

This view is looking north to the Quimper Peninsula … Port Townsend is on the far end just along the water.

After shooting in the forest under cloudy skies, I turned the ISO down and took this photo. I didn’t pay as much attention as I should have … I was pretty tired from the climb back to the top (I drove to the top and hiked down and back up). I should have paid more attention … I could have dropped the ISO to 64 and still would have been able to handhold.

Flycatcher

Flycatcher

I’m not sure which flycatcher this is … but I like the little guy anyway. I’m not as concerned with formal identification as many birders. I just enjoy watching them and the challenge of trying to get a photo.

Point Hudson

Point Hudson in Port Townsend WA

The view of Point Hudson from Fort Worden State Park (both in Port Townsend). The Point Hudson Marina is just to the right of the image and the downtown area of Port Townsend is just beyond that.

Clematis

Clematis

We are really enjoying our new house and yard (new to us in October). Since this is the first spring we have lived here, we are seeing what comes up and being very pleasantly surprised.

This clematis is just spectacular.
